Medical testers
Modern medicine uses numerous electrical devices and types of equipment in the care and treatment of patients. There are a few that even apply voltage or current to the human body, others require unusual supply types, some must work underwater, or carry heavy loads. Regardless of variability of features, they must be safe for the patient.
Safety is tested using two specialised standards, IEC 60601 and IEC 62353. They are designed to cover specifics of safety where the medical device or equipment is in electrical contact with the patient, and to also test safety towards the operator. IEC 60601 is more general and thorough. IEC 62353 focuses on periodic testing and testing after service while maintaining electrical safety. Metrel offers solutions for both.
